I have heard that it rains more on some of the islands. Any ideas would be appreciated! Also resort or hotel information if anyone has any recommendations.

Answer: Honolulu hotels are a popular way to stay when visiting the area. In fact, staying at a hotel may have been the first thought that entered into your mind. Why? Aside from the fact that travelers are most familiar with hotels, their rates are often preferred. Staying at a Honolulu hotel is likely your cheapest approach. This is great if you are traveling on a budget.

If you opt to stay at a Honolulu hotel, be sure to examine your options closely. Hotels come in a number of different formats. Due to the warm climate of Hawaii, it is a wise idea to choose a hotel with an onsite swimming pool.

As nice as Honolulu hotels are, some are limited in the number of features and services that guests are provided with. If you are looking for more “perks,” you should examine Honolulu vacation resorts. Although there tends to be some confusion between hotels and resorts, you should be able to spot a Honolulu vacation resort right away just by the services, features, and facilities you gain access to.

Honolulu vacation resorts tend to be family oriented. It is not uncommon to find a game room for children or another fun activity onsite. Swimming pools and hot tubs are common fixtures as well. Luxury vacation resorts typically have spas, golf courses, and tennis courts onsite. As for services that you are provided with, room service, child care service, and dry cleaning are occasionally available.

If you opt for staying at a Honolulu vacation resort, be sure to examine beachfront resorts, as they come highly rated and recommended.

As great as Honolulu vacation resorts and hotels are, you may be looking for more privacy. If you are, you will want to examine Honolulu vacation home rentals. Vacation home rentals are nice, as they provide you with the ultimate level of privacy. Why? Because your traveling party are the only renters in the home. This means that you don’t have to worry about running into other travelers in the hallway. You also shouldn’t have to share the features that you gain access to.

Speaking of Honolulu vacation home rental features, you will like what you find. Despite the possibility of a variance, most rentals come equipped with air conditioning, cable or satellite television, internet access, and a washer and dryer. Other extras that may be included and features that you should look for include a view of the ocean, a private garden or patio area, a swimming pool, or a hot tub.

If you want privacy on your next Hawaii vacation, but don’t feel as if you need to rent a whole home, you will want to examine Honolulu condos. As with Honolulu vacation home rentals, they are often stocked full of amazing features. These features should include a fully furnished kitchen, internet access, television programming, and air conditioning. Other features, such as a swimming pool, hot tub, and garden or patio area may also be included with a condo rental, but these typically need to be shared with other renters.

If you like the sound of renting a Honolulu condo, but can’t afford the rental rates, you should examine apartment rentals. Honolulu apartment rentals do come in a number of different sizes, but most are relatively small in size. For that reason, they are perfect for those traveling with only a small group. Vacation apartment rentals are attractive due to their price. They are often much cheaper than renting a vacation home or condo.

If you opt to stay at a Honolulu vacation apartment rental, look for those that provide you with an amazing view. Apartment complexes with onsite facilities and features, such as a patio area, swimming pool, and tennis courts are also nice.

Have a great vacation!

Hawaii vacation?
What are the main things I should do on a Hawaii vacation?

Answer: To maximize your Hawaii vacation and make it the best possible, here are some helpful tips:

1 - Rent a Hawaii Vacation Rental

Yes, you can stay at one of the many available Hawaii hotels and resorts, but you may want to book a stay at a private Hawaii vacation rental. Why? There are a number of benefits to doing so. One of those benefits is privacy. With most vacation rentals, you and your traveling party are the only vacationers onsite. You also get many of the comforts of home, including a fully furnished kitchen where you are able to prepare your own meals!

What is nice about staying at a vacation rental, aside from the privacy is all of the choices that you have. Hawaiian vacation rentals are found on all of the popular islands and they come in a number of different formats. You can rent a Hawaii vacation home, cottage, villa, condo, or an apartment. With a number of great features, possibly including a dishwasher, washer, dryer, and a fully furnished kitchen, they are great for extended Hawaii vacations.

2 - Rent a Car

In addition to making reservations for a Hawaii vacation rental, you should also make reservations for a car rental. Yes, there is public transportation available in Hawaii, but there are a number of benefits to renting your own vehicle. These benefits include the freedom to come and go as you please, as well as privacy. You don’t have to worry about sharing a bus or a taxi with others.

Cars, as you know, come in a number of different makes and models. Whether you are traveling alone or with a large group, you should be able to find a rental car that is perfect for your needs. If you want to spend most of your trip to Hawaii out exploring and sightseeing, it may be in your best interest to rent a car that gets good gas mileage.

3 - Take a Hawaii Dinner Cruise

One of the reasons why Hawaii is a popular vacation destination is because of all of the activities you can enjoy. One activity that you will want to closely examine is that of a dinner cruise. Hawaii dinner cruises are popular and available on most of the Hawaiian Islands.

If you do decide to take a dinner cruise, examine those that can be considered multi-cruises. For example, can you sightsee or whale watch as well? Look for dinner cruises that advertise whale watching as an activity or choose a cruise that will take you to a beautiful destination, such as the Napali Coast on Kauai.

4 - Go Sightseeing

Whether you stay at a Hawaii vacation resort or a private vacation rental, you may find yourself not wanting to leave. With that said, Hawaii is a place that you should get out and explore. It doesn’t matter which Hawaiian island you choose to visit, there are a number of attractions that are commonly referred to as a sightseer’s dream.

On Big Island, you will find Mauna Kea, Waipio Valley, the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Kauai, as previously stated, is home to the Napali Coast, as well as the Waimea Canyon and the Wailua River. When vacationing on Kauai, you can visit Pearl Harbor, the Iolani Palace, and visit Waikiki Beach. Maui is home to the Ioa Valley, the scenic Hana Highway, and the Haleakala Crater. For a large number of attractions that are often referred to as hidden treasures, visit the less popular islands of Molokai and Lanai.

5 - Learn to Surf

Hawaii, especially the island of Oahu is known for its pristine surfing conditions. Don’t know how to surf? That is fine. In fact, there is no better time to learn. It is an adventure, which you will never forget.

Which hotel is good at Kaanapali Beach, Maui, Hawaii?
I am deciding between 3 hotels at Kaanapali Beach, Maui, Hawaii. Has anyone stayed at any of these? Can you give me any feedback, good or bad? thank you!

1. - Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa
2. - The Westin Maui Resort and Spa
3. - Sheraton Maui Resort

Answer: The Hyatt is beautiful but a bit pricey. The other two are in the right order as well in terms of nicest to most plain.

Answer: I have always liked the Sheraton. It is an older hotel, but it has been renovated. The location is beautiful, set up against a large outcropping of rock into the ocean. That is what I like about it the most.

Answer: I’ve stayed at the Westin. They have very good service. Beautiful property. I love their pool. It is so much fun!! There restuarants have very good food. Try the bruch at the Tropicana. Good selection.

Haven’t stayed at the Sheraton, but I’ve walked through it numerous times. I live on Maui. There pool is nice w/slide. More simple than the other two hotels. Their luau is cool because they have a man light torches along Black Rock then dive off. They’ve had that tradition for years. Even the general manager used to jump off when he was a teen.

I stayed at the Hyatt to celebrate my daughter’s 1st b-day. But I have to say that they had poor service!

Aloha and I live on Maui, and all the hotels are pretty good, but you have to deal with a lot of tourists. If you want a nice remodeled condo on the ocean 5 minutes from Kaanapalli, where it is a one bedroom, fully furnished, e mail me, and I can help you. I manage the condo.Condo’s are a lot cheaper than a hotel room, and you still can use the hotels for dinner, partying, etc. My fav hotel would be the Hyatt. They have a great luau there.

I’ve stayed at both the Hyatt and the Westin Maui and I believe that both of them are excellent. The Hyatt get’s my vote for better pool area. If you have kids, the Hyatt is probably better. I don’t think you will go wrong with either one.

I wanna go to Hawaii, but where?
So I wanna go to hawaii. but there are so many islands. which one should I go to. which one do you reccomend. I want to go somewhere when lots of beaches, and tropical fruits, and awesome hotels and resorts.

Answer: Honolulu

Answer: Kauai, Maui, Big Island, Molokai - avoid Oahu most crowded.

Answer: Maui. They pretty much all meet your criteria, but Maui is the most touristy of the islands. Go in Jan/Feb/March when the whales are calving off the western side of the island. You can watch whales from your beach chair.

The island of Hawaii is amazing, but probably not at all what you picture when you think of Hawaii. Hawaii is largely covered with “cold” lava flows, so it’s not very “tropical”, however it’s also where you will find the really black sand beaches, green sand beaches, active volcanoes, and Kona coffee:) The “awesome” hotels and resorts are in my opinion on Hawaii. Resorts and golf courses carved out of lava flows are pretty cool.

Answer: Kauai

Been to Hawaii?
I am looking for a couples vacation in late October. I would like to go to hawaii but don’t know where is best to go. Is there an all inclusive resort that is good?

Answer: I do not believe there are any all inclusives left in the Hawaii. Outrigger offered the program years ago but no longer operates the related properties. Kona Village (Big Island of Hawaii) might be the closest to an all inclusive package.

Recommend Big Island, Kauai, Oahu and Lanai in that order (Not a fan of Maui even though I believe it is the most popular)

Answer: Hilton Hotel in Waikiki has EVERYTHING-Oahu
Turtle Bay resort on North shore-Oahu
If you are military or retired military the Hale Koa is great- Oahu.
If you want a secluded quiet place go to Lanai or Kauai.

Answer: My husband and I went to Oahu and got married on Waikiki. We stayed at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach. It was a nice stay.

The Outrigger Reef on the Beach is right on the beach. You step out and there is Diamond Head. We got to watch the sunrise every morning on Diamond Head, it was beautiful. They have plenty of shopping in the motel and three restaurants.

Good luck finding a good all inclusive. They are hard to find for Hawaii. Make sure you read all parts so they don’t stick you with something you don’t want and make sure they give you what you want.

Have FUN!

Answer: I don’t know about the inclusive resort but I recommend oahu. There’s great shopping and of course the beaches!

Answer: My husband and I just got back from the Big Island. We had a great time. We stayed in Kona at the Royal Kona Resort. There were a lot of children there though. It ended up being fine for us since we were out and about seeing the sights most of the time. I would suggest trying to go to more than one island while you are there if you have the time. We didn’t but I wish we had.

Answer: I would go to Maui over all the other Islands. Owahu is too busy and a mess to get around in any month. You can not park anywhere if you drove there and the restaurants are completely packed. The big Island has very little to do, just lots of lookouts and so on. It gets boring quickly-good for one day. Maui is the place for Honeymooners. You can drive to most of the Island and there is plenty to see and do and it is not too clouded. Expect temps of 75-85 every day.

A. Aloha for first time Newlyweds definitely O’ahu - - - perhaps The Ihilani Spa & Resort, though it is Pricey - - - no reason why you cannot be within the bustle of Waikiki and still enjoy a quiet moment; check out The Pacific Beach Hotel, or off the beaten path but a local favorite, The Pagoda Hotel:

“The 360-room Pagoda Hotel is home to the award-winning Pagoda Floating Restaurant, featuring a world-renowned koi pond and Japanese garden. The hotel is conveniently located between Waikiki and Downtown Honolulu, minutes from the Hawaii Convention Center and Ala Moana shopping district.

The Pagoda Hotel exemplifies the successful and harmonious blending of Eastern and Western cultures with Hawaiian hospitality.

Pagoda Hotel is part of the HTH Corporation hotel collection, which includes the 837-room Pacific Beach Hotel, located directly across from Waikiki Beach, and 460-room King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel, located in the heart of Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii”.

“The 837-room Pacific Beach Hotel is located directly across from Waikiki Beach. The hotel is home to the landmark, three-story, 280,000-gallon indoor oceanarium, the dramatic backdrop for its three award-winning restaurants: Neptune’s Garden, Shogun, and Oceanarium Restaurant.

Pacific Beach Hotel is part of the HTH Corporation hotel collection, which includes the 360-room Pagoda Hotel, located minutes from the new Hawaii Convention Center, and 460-room King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel, located in the heart of Kailua-Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii”.

Have a wonderful time.

A. Rains some during that time of year. Recommend Oahu (I live here) and even tho it can be crowded w/tourists, there are lots to see and do that you can get away from the city. Any island you go to will be expensive, and Waikiki would be costly, due to tourism. try to go visit the north shore (waves would be awesome during that time..not to swim, but for the view). Lots of hiking trails. Would recommend sheraton Moana Surf Rider (beach front hotel, awesome, but kind of pricey). or Pacific Beach Hotel is nice too.

A. I would recommend the island of Kauai the garden island, it is just beautiful and the flower state. I would also recommend going to a real Hawaiian luau Congratulations on your wedding.

A. For our honeymoon, we stayed a few days in Kauai at the Hyatt Regency in Popi’u Beach, and rented a car and drove as far each way, just sightseeing. Then we flew to Honolulu and stayed in the Hilton Hawaiian. I think they upgraded us because we were honeymooning because we ended up with a corner room with an incredible view in two directions. We didn’t bother with a car there as it’s a pain to drive and find parking. But we managed to do a lot of walking, shopping, dining.
